Where is Fun Divers Bali?


Fun Divers Bali is located at east Bali, surrounded by the most popular dive sites of the whole island, including USAT Liberty Wreck. We are right in the middle of all dive sites of Tulamben and Amed, any dive site is within 20 minutes driving. Our address is Amed, Jl. Raya Amed No.10, Purwakerti, Abang, Karangasem Regency, Bali 80852.




How can I get to Amed?


From Denpasar: There is only one airport (Denpasar/DPS) in Bali. Amed is about 2.5 hrs car driving from the airport depending on the traffic. From Denpasar city ( or Sanur, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Ubud, Uluwatu, etc.), you have 3 ways of getting here where is the most popular divesites located, there is no public transport yet in Bali for Tourists: 1. Car. About IDR 600,000 per car 1-4 person. Price depending on car condition and the distance. 2. Mini Bus. About IDR 1,200,000 chartered. 4-10 person.Price depending on car condition and the driver. 3. Shuttle bus from private company, e.g. Perama Bus. About IDR 200,000 per person. Depart from DPS airport, Sanur, Kuta Perama office at 07:30 every day. Please consult the company for accurate info. 4. Motorbike. Rarely, light travellers from Kuta/Sanur/other destinations rent bikes to come over to Amed then drive back. Be careful if without a local drive liscence, the fine can be from 50,000 IDR up to hundred dollars depends on the luck of that day. Helmet is a must. From Java: There is a boat connection from Java to Bali (Permutaran Area), then it takes 4 hours car driving to come over to Amed, costs about IDR 750,000 per car 1-4 person.




What is the schedule of a diving day?


If you are staying in Amed area, we provide FREE transport collecting time at 07:45 to your hotel reception, and will bring you back after the program with us. For Fun Divers: We have 2 departures from the dive center per day. 08:00 and 13:00. After 2 dives, you will be back to the shop at respectively 13:00 and 18:00. For Courses: We have very flexible schedule for each student's own pace. A typical schedule is starting every day at 08:00. Please refer to the specific course page to check it up. For CCR divers or CCR students: You will have your own time table and your own independant car/boat, seperated from Open Circuit divers. All dive sites within 20 minutes driving from the dive center, everything goes relaxed. If you are staying in Kuta/ Sanur or area close to the "city": We highly recommend that you stay in Amed for 1 or 2 nights to add more fun and relaxation to your holiday. Enjoy a bit the great sunset view of Amed. Or else, a day trip including 2 fun dive / 2 try dive (including one or both dive on USAT liberty wrerck) and transport from and back to your hotel is available. The transport costs around IDR 1,000,000 round trip per car (1-4 person) depending on distance. A typical schedule would be: ·Pick up at 07:00 from your hotel; ·2.5 hours driving to Amed arriving 09:30-10:00; ·2 dives with lunch time in between; ·Head back to your hotel arriving about 18:00 or even later depending on the traffic.




What about the dive sites you have there?


Fun Divers Bali is well located in the middle of all best dive sites around Amed and Tulamben area. Instead of 2.5-3 hours driving distance from the Denpasar, here in Amed all the best dive sites are within 20 minutes from our dive center. We do not take guests for day trips to Lembogan, Padang Bay or Menjangan unless for groups. For single travellers, a few friends or couples, it is a good choice to book your rooms there and dive there with local centers. Bali is a big island and has 3 most popular diving area: Amed Tulamben area, Lembogan, Permutaran (Menjangan), they are 2.5-4 hours car driving (some plus boat) to each other, Fun Divers Bali only arrange long distance day trips when necessary, putting ourselves in your shoes. Can I dive with you one-stop to every dive sties in Bali?


We are located in Amed and dive Tulamben and Amed. We do not take guests for day trips to Lembogan, Padang Bay or Menjangan unless for groups. For single travellers, a few friends or couples, it is a good choice to book your rooms there and dive there with local centers. Bali is a big island and has 3 most popular diving area: Amed Tulamben area, Lembogan, Permutaran (Menjangan), they are 2.5-4 hours car driving (some plus boat) to each other, Fun Divers Bali only arrange long distance day trips when necessary, putting ourselves in your shoes.




How can I go to Gilis after Amed and Tulamben?


Amed is also popular because of its convenience of connection to Gili islands. You can book the tickets 1-2 days in advance when you are here. There are 2 or 3 fast boat companies offering the service. Ticket price from 200,000 to 300,000 per person one way including free pick up from your hotel in Amed. Easy to book from homestays and hotels.




We stay in Kuta, Sanur, Ubud, etc., can we dive with you?


If you are diving oriented and staying in Kuta/ Sanur or area close to the "city": We highly recommend that you change your plan and stay in Amed for 1 or 2 nights to add more fun and relaxation to your holiday. Enjoy a bit the great sunset view of Amed in the evening instead of spending those precious time on your way back to the city. Or else, a day trip including 2 fun dive / 2 try dive (including one or both dive on USAT liberty wrerck) and transport from and back to your hotel is available. The transport costs around IDR 1,000,000 round trip per car (1-4 person) depending on distance. A typical schedule would be: ·Pick up at 07:00 from your hotel; ·2.5 hours driving to Amed arriving 09:30-10:00; ·2 dives with lunch time in between; ·Head back to your hotel arriving about 18:00 or even later depending on the traffic.




How can I confirm my booking, pay the deposit and pay the balance?


To confirm a booking: Once you confirm your booking we'll need a deposit of $50 USD or 500,000 IDR per person or full amount to our account to hold your space. ​​The dates of your course are changeable up to 3 days in advance, if you cancel we require 3 days notice for a refund, deposit is non refundable after this.We request the remainder of payment be paid upon the start of the course. How can I get to Fun Divers Bali? Is the transport free?


For guests who are based in Amed: Once you are in Amed, no matter you are a fun diver or a dive course student, we will collect you in the morning and bring you back to the hotel for free. Normally pick up time is at 07:45 your program will start at 08:00. You could also choose to come by yourself if you've rent a motorbike. For guests who are in Padang Bay, Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, DPS airport, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu etc.: The only way is to take a car. For one way, it costs IDR 350,000-650,000 per car (1-4 person), depending on the distance. For the moment there is no public transport yet. Unless you want to catch a Perama Bus from private company departing from their Airport, Sanur, Kuta office at 07:30 every morning. It costs about 200,000 per person depending on the distance.

Can I get discount for using my own equipment?


For Fun Dive, you can get 10% of discount for own BCD+Regulator, there is no discount for own mask, fins, wetsuit, booties. For courses, we have no discount for own equipemnt.




Is there any hidden fee?


There is no hidden fee on top of our price. All prices for Fun Dive or Scuba Courses include the full set of Scuba equipment, all courses include FREE rent for recreational dive computers. All tax included.




How is your equipment conditions?


Fun Divers Bali just replaced the equipment in early 2018! Bubbling regulator, leaking BC never get a place in our equipment room. Long and short wet suits from 3 to 5 mm available, even for kids from 10 years to 14 years old, ankle booties are replaced in time all around the year for rocky shore dives. We believe that investing in equipment and keep the quality is always rewarding in the long run! We have two Scuba Pro technicians working full time, and a workshop for maintainance of our own equipment, we are happy to help with equipment cleaning and repairing for other dive centers around when in need, our professionalism is the second to none in the area. We are one of the very few dive centers in Amed own compressor. Instead of renting tanks from other shops, we chose the location of the compressor room, bought the best filtering system, take care of our own tanks, ensuring your highest quality of breathing gas and keep your safety to the highest level!




Do you have your own compressor and your own tanks?

Do you have Nitrox, pure oxygen and Helium?


Yes we do. We are able to blend any mix that you need and compress it to 200 Bar in a tank. For recreational divers, using 32% Nitrox for diving costs you IDR 50,000 per tank. For price of Helium and pump fee, please refer to CCR and technical diving page. We have all the time pure Oxygen prepared for the safety reason. You will not trust a dive operation without pure oxygen delivery system standing by.





What You Need to Know When Diving with Us

Can I finish the Open Water Course in 2 days ?


If you have done enough independant study on the learning material we provide, as we are located close to the dive sites that no time would be wasted on the long way of transport, instructor to students rate could be 1:1. It is possible for you to finish OW course within 2 days in deed. Exception: you don't feel 100% comfortable on inwater sports; you are not based in Amed area and need a long time transport during the course; you didn't finish the homework our instructor assigned before the course start date, we are fully booked during high season and an shortened but intensive course is not possible.




Can I do the Open Water and Advance Open Water together ?


Yes. It takes 5 days 9 dives in total to finish. It is a great chance to enhance the skills in OW course and apply them in real life during your advanced course right away with a instructor.




How can I get to Fun Divers Bali on diving days?


For guests who are based in Amed: Once you are in Amed, no matter you are a fun diver or a dive course student, we will collect you in the morning and bring you back to the hotel for FREE. Normally pick up time is at 07:45 your program will start at 08:00. You could also choose to come by yourself if you've rent a motorbike. How many divers are there in a group ?


For Fun Dive: Maximum ratio 4 to 1. We always try our best to achieve the smallest group as long as we have enough instructors/ guides. For try dive/DSD program: Maximum ratio 2 to 1 with 100% activated certified instructors. For courses: Maximum ratio 4 to 1.




Can we go to the USAT liberty wreck for fun dive or courses?


Yes. Fun Divers Bali is just 20 minutes car driving to USAT liberty wreck and has Tulamben trips available every day. The ship wreck spreads as shallow as 3m and as deep as 30m. It is good for all levels of divers, even for try dive/DSD participator.




Can I choose dive sites in courses? Can I choose dive sites for Fun Dives?


In entry level courses, the instructor will choose the dive sites considering your skill level, the safety and the environmental conditions. In advanced education, the instructor will always choose the dive sites suitable for teaching the skills properly, and can ensure your high level of fun. For Fun Divers, you can choose dive sites and the entry methods. For boat diving, a boat rent of 100,000-300,000 per person could happen depending on how many are sharing and the distance. Please visit Fun Dive & Sites to learn more. For Fun Divers Bali, our location decides that all of the dive sites are within 20 minutes driving and all the entry fee, porter fee, tax are the same. Your safety and the education needs are the only considerations on choosing dive sites here. We never would take you to a dive site with nothing to see to lower our cost. Which could happen in some dive centers.




After my DSD/try dive program with you, can I get discount for a full course?


Yes. What you learnt in try dive program will be a part of the Open Water Course, and we will discount that part from the total price.




Where I should keep my valuables and dry staff?


You could put your hand bag inside our diving car for shore dive, as well as before a boat dive. If you want to keep larger size of lugguage, our dive center office has enough space for you.




What should I bring on the diving day with you?


Swimming suit, towel, water bottle, logbook, certification card or online record. We do provide towels for guests who forget their own. We do have a water refill station and water cups on dive sites all the time along with drivers and cars. But it is recommended that you have your own instead of using disposable products.




Do you provide coffee and tea? Is lunch included?


Yes we provide coffe and tea for free. Please ask when ever in need. No lunch is not included as you will be back after diving at either lunch time or dinner time. You could always find small warung or minimart for some food at the dives sites.




Why you didn't ask my size to choose equipment for me?


We don't need your sizes before you show up in the shop. We require that our guest arrive at the shop 30 minutes before the car departure time (usually it is 08:30 or 13:30 every day). So our staff have enough time to let you try the equipement sizes in a relaxed manner. As we only can be sure when that pair of shoes are on your feet or the wetsuit zip is completely on!




Do you have prescriptive masks?


Yes we do. If you have -6 to -2 prescription, you don't need to worry about it diving with us.
