Instructor Training Course at Fun Divers Bali:

Prerequisites:

To enroll on a Instructor Training Course you need the following:

  • Divemaster, or leadership level with a recognized diver training organisation.

  • Be 18 years old.

  • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives.

  • Certified diver for 6 months.

  • Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months. Can be conducted here in local hospital.

  • Emergency First Respond CPR and first aid completion (or qualifying training) within the last 24 months.

  • O2 provider

Step 1 – Instructor Training Course 

To become a Instructor, first you’ll need to complete the Instructor Training Course. This 14 days course is designed to introduce various teaching techniques for teaching in a classroom, a confined water environment and also in Open Water. You will learn more advanced dive theory, as well as perfect the demonstration quality scuba skills you first mastered on your Divemaster course.

We will introduce you to the entire system of diver education as well as discuss the latest Business & Marketing trends in the industry. We will also look at Environmental concerns and make sure you have the necessary Standards and legal knowledge necessary for a qualified Scuba Diving Instructor.

After that you’ll be examined by external examiners to make sure you meet the required standard, in the 2 days Instructor Examination.

Step 2 – Instructor Examinations (IE)

Upon successful completion of all performance requirements of the ITC you are now fully prepared to enter the 2 days Instructor Examination (IE).

This is an external examination conducted by staff of HQ. Over two days you’ll be examined to make sure you are able to teach scuba diving safely, working to training standards.

The two day IE schedule is as follows:

Day 1

Morning:
• Orientation to the instructor examination
• Systems, standards and procedures examination exam
• Dive Theory Exams

Lunch Break

Afternoon: 
Confined water teaching presentations (swimming pool)

Stress and Rescue skill

Day 2

Morning: 
Knowledge development presentations (classroom)

• Open Water Teaching Presentations (local dive site)
